2006 Mercedes Benz SL Class

Perhaps no Mercedes-Benz model has a prouder history than the SL. The German automaker’s sports car launched in the mid-1950s in the form of the now-historic and highly-collectable 300SL, which was available as a two-door roadster or the famous hardtop with Gullwing doors. Mercedes launched the new and fifth generation of its venerable two-seater in 2003. Rather than making customers decide between coupe or roadster (convertible), all SLs now come with a retractable hardtop, so the SL can be two cars in one: top up for cold weather; top down for enjoying the sunshine. The model lineup includes the SL500, SL600, SL55 AMG, and SL65 AMG.

Mercedes Benz CLK DTM 2000

A special version of the CLK is the CLK DTM AMG sports car, which looks similar to the full race car for the German Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters racing series which has to use a normally aspirated 4.0 L V8, limited to less than 500 hp. About 100 street cars were released for sale in Europe, using AMG's supercharged 5.5 L V8, now producing 428 kW (582 PS) and 800 N·m (590 ft·lbf). The front and rear track are widened by 2.9 and 4.2 inches (74 and 110 mm) respectively, and special tires and suspension modifications allow the car to pull 1.35 g (13 m/s²) of lateral acceleration. 0-100 km/h acceleration is just 3.9 seconds, and top speed is 320 km/h (199 mph). In Germany, the car cost 236,060 euro after taxes.

Mitsubishi EVO VII

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII may not be most peoples idea of a pretty car, but its certainly a good deal easier on the eye than either of its direct forebears, Evos V and VI. Evolution is said to refine the species, and its certainly rounded off a lot of the rough edges of the Evo bloodline. However, anyone expecting a significant softening of the performance envelope could well be in for a rude awakening. Hardcore enthusiasts will still lust after the bumps, bulges, warts and wilful ugliness of the Evo VI, but theyd be missing out.

The latest version of the Evo VII is a better car in so many ways that perhaps we can forgive its less aggressive mien. In a bid to stave off the inevitable flood of grey import models, official UK models boast a titanium turbo, full rustproofing and an ECU thats been remapped to clear our emissions regulations. A UK passport served to identify the vehicle as an official car to any of the fifty UK Ralliart dealers who will honour the three-year warranty. Not only does this bring peace of mind, but it also guaranteed a healthy resale price for the car, its official status being a guarantee of known provenance and scrupulous upkeep.

De Lorean DMC-12

The De Lorean DMC-12 is a sports car which was manufactured by the De Lorean Motor Company from 1981 through 1983. It is most commonly known as the De Lorean, as it was the only model ever produced by the company. The DMC-12 featured gull-wing doors with a brushed stainless steel body. It was famously featured in the Back to the Future trilogy.

The first prototype appeared in March 1977, and production officially began in 1981 (with the first DMC-12 rolling off the production line on January 21st) at the DMC factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland. During its production, several aspects of the car were changed, such as the hood (bonnet) style, wheels and interior. Around 8,583 DMC-12s were made before production fizzled in late 1982, with final production taking place in early 1983. Today, only about six thousand DeLorean Motor Cars are believed to still exist.
